PUMPG – What is a Midjourney Prompt Generator?

An AI prompt is the text description input provided to an AI model to perform a specific action or generate an output.

A prompt generator allows you to generate prompts, which you can then use, in our case, in Midjourney, to create an image that portrays all the inputs you have provided.

Why Use an AI Art Prompt Generator?

While Midjourney is a powerful AI art generator, it takes time to remember all the parameters, their values, and what they do. Here are a few reasons you’d want to use the PUMPG prompt generator:

  1. Inspiration: Sometimes, finding the right subject or theme to draw or paint can be challenging. An art prompt generator offers a variety of ideas and themes, helping to spark creativity when you’re feeling stuck. PUMPG includes various styles and filters you can apply, you can suggest additional ones by contacting us via chat!
  2. Challenge: Art prompts can push artists out of their comfort zones by suggesting subjects or styles they might not normally consider. This can be a great way to develop new skills and techniques.
  3. Consistency: For those looking to practice regularly, an art prompt generator provides a steady stream of new ideas to keep the creative juices flowing, making it easier to maintain a daily or weekly art practice.
  4. Fun: Exploring random prompts can make the creative process more enjoyable and less stressful. It’s exciting to see what unique creations can emerge from unexpected suggestions.

How to use the PUMPG Midjourney Prompt Builder?

This tool is straightforward and intuitive like building blocks to create a good prompt and save time. Here’s a simple guide:

  1. Start Simple: Enter basic elements like your main subject and desired style. Think of these as the foundational blocks of your prompt. (Where, what)
  2. Use Tooltips: If you need help with what to enter in any field, just hover over the area. Tooltips will appear, providing explanations or examples helping to clarify what information is needed.
  3. Add Details: Once the basics are in place, you can add more detailed parameters to refine your prompt. This can include mood, lighting, and objects or backgrounds.
  4. Explore Advanced Settings: For those who want more control over the final output, the advanced section offers options to adjust aspects like image references for more accuracy or GPU efficiency to optimize processing time, allowing you to get more out of the GPU hours in your subscription.
  5. Generate and Iterate: After copying the prompt from our PUMPG tool, head to Midjourney to generate the artwork. If the result isn’t what you envisioned, tweak your inputs and try again. Each iteration can help refine what you’re looking for.

By breaking down the process into these simple steps and exploring the various parameters, anyone can effectively use the PUMPG Midjourney Prompt Builder to focus on creating great prompts and generating unique images.

How do I upload an image to the AI prompt generator?

Uploading images is simple: enter the image URL in either the Sref (Style Reference) or Cref (Character Reference) fields. You can either provide the URL where the image was uploaded online or upload it to your conversation with the Midjourney bot on Discord, right-click it, and press “copy link.”

Where can I find Midjourney Prompts?

While we currently don’t have a library of prompts, we recommend these two nifty resources to supplement your PUMPG prompts:

  1. A spreadsheet with thousands of additional artists and styles – here (or here if busy)
  2. A free digital book created by our friends that covers everything you need to know – here

How to use Style prompts in Midjourney?

First, let’s ensure we understand the difference between --stylize and --style.

--stylize or --s parameter influences how strongly this training is applied. Low stylization values produce images that closely match the prompt but are less artistic. High stylization values create images that are very artistic but less connected to the prompt.

The style parameter replaces the default aesthetic of some Midjourney Model Versions. This is compatible with version 5.2 and above, and you have extra variations to add for Niji 5 and Niji 6 (the anime models).

Additionally, don’t forget you can type “style Pixar” for example, and you will have Pixar styled output.

P.S. PUMPG includes tooltips to remind you of the usage of various parameters so you can refer to them on the go!

Can ChatGPT generate Midjourney prompts?

You could write a ChatGPT prompt to help you build prompts for AI art generators. Feeding it various parameters and defining sets of rules helps you prepare to generate images. But unlike using the PUMPG tool, you won’t be able to get inspiration from multiple filters or art styles, and it will also be another tool where you need to use writing rather than building blocks.

Tips On How To Create Basic Midjourney Prompts:

Before you let your imagination run wild on our digital blank canvas, let’s understand a few key aspects:

  1. Order Matters: What comes first in your input will be more important in the images generated.
  2. Separate components: By typing colon twice, ::, you convey separation between the components in your prompt, for example:

    P.S.:
Midjourney doesn’t recognize commas and dashes [, -] but use them if it helps you be more organized

  3. Weights: To add on top of separating components, adding weight will give more importance to elements, for example, when typing Battle ship:

Create Advanced And Detailed Prompts:

Congratulations on feeling more comfortable to take the next step in your artificial intelligence digital art exploration! You can choose to dive into the official parameters list documentation but first, let’s help you get inspired a little:

  1. Image references: You can use Sref (Style reference) to generate images with similar styles or Cref (Character reference) to maintain character consistency. Pro tip: Don’t forget to extract the Seed of your image and include the same core prompt.
  2. Permutation Prompts: Instead of typing in three separate times to generate the same item with different options, you can use {option 1, option 2, option 3}. For example:
Pro tip: getting trigger-happy will drain your GPU hours FAST.
    Midjourney permutations prompt examples
  3. Speed: Speaking of fast, you can adjust the generation speed using either turbo or relax. Relax will work great when you want to conserve GPU minutes, and there’s no rush to receive your results.
  4. Quality: If you are testing new ideas and want a quick preview before spending previous GPU minutes, you can change the output quality by using q 0.25 or stop the generation after a certain % of completion using –stop. Note: Using stop with a low percentage will create blurry images.
  5. Blend: You can blend up to 5 images into one, creating even more unique art styles
  6. Explore additional capabilities in the documentation or our blog post on how to use Midjourney

What is the best Free Midjourney Prompt Generator?

The best one is the one that is most comfortable for you. While we can’t claim to be the best, we intend to PUMPG to be the best! This is why you are more than welcome to reach out using the chatbot, which is available for suggestions or feedback!

What is the best AI art prompt generator?

It depends on which AI art generators you intend to use. Different generators accept different input structures and have unique parameters, so while a prompt generated by our tool, “PUMPG,” may work for other AI art generator tools, it might not be best suited for them, which is why different art prompt generators exist for different AI tools.

Which AI art generator is everyone using?

Midjourney is among the most popular AI art generators. Other popular alternatives include Stable Diffusion, Leonardo AI, or Dalle-3, integrated with ChatGPT 4. We created PUMPG mainly for Midjourney but we are looking into creating additional ones for other AI art generators.

Is Midjourney Free To Use?

Initially, new users could get free credits to test it out. These days, they reward creative effort periodically by gifting GPU minutes, but overall, users are expected to subscribe to access the tool.
